Faced with increasing resource scarcity, how can young people contribute to the promotion of sustainable production and consumption?

Think Twice... about the World

by igsz

The people in the film are ordinary people in my life. Their actions in the first part of the movie are unfortunatly everyday things that to many people are overlooking. Some tend to take for granted resources that other people work very hard for. Some tend to neglect the very place they live in.Some tend to waist what for others would be a life saver. Some tend to ignore what others would gladly appreciate even for a few hours. Some tend to ignore the damage sometimes confort causes.

Think Twice... about the World

a tree house

in our modern day life we search out for all the possibilities of luxury sitting in one corner of the room, thinking that life is impossible without this luxuries, but with a backon of nature if we just throw our sight to our environment we may find enough possibilities to not only sustain ourselves but also to live a life full of serenity and tranquility.what nature have given us is enough, what we need is a glimpse of vision.

Involving in Environmental protection

In tourist sites, especially eco-tourism where many tourist come to visit; it is important that everyone participate in making the environment clean and green. Youth team can a be a form of social campaign to increase public awareness and participation environmental protection. (in this picture Bousra Waterfall in Mondulkiri, Cambodia)

Borrowing design from nature - buildings as symbols for sustainable thinking.

This is the roof of the Sagrada Famiglia church, in Barcelona. When Gaudi designed the Sagrada Famiglia, he studied nature closely and mimiced structures, surfaces and materials to optimize his buildings. By borrowing design from nature, when designing new products, we can get better solutions which has a lower impact on the environment. By designing buildings after nature, we create monuments, which all young people can look up to and be inspired by.

The Eco Society

In my paper I am discussing some solutions to create the eco society in compliance with the sustainability of the consumption and the production. Raising the awareness of the people regarding the needs for a green society I offer some ideas that can be put into practice by us, the youths. To be green is to think green. If we change our way of thinking, we will modify our actions. Together we can be one, the "one" that contributes to the sustainable production and consumption.

Eco-Friendly Building Design

An environmentally friendly building minimizes its negative effetcs on the surrounding environement. The conceptual design of such a building should ideally embrace eco-friendly, sustainable and recycled materials; and allow for a reduction in energy consumption during the entire life cycle of the structure as well as during its construction.

Role of youth in sustainable production and consumption

In the modern era, bringing about a change in the minds and attitudes of young people is of primary strategic importance. In fact, Bank (2005) states it as one of the most challenging questions before policy makers, educationists and governments over the recent years for which new and innovative ways have to be developed to educate young people.
