Following detailed deliberations by the judging panel, the winners of the second edition of the Vinyl 2010 Sustainable Thinking Platform multimedia competition have been announced.

The winners of the first edition of the Vinyl 2010 Sustainable Thinking Platform multimedia competition have been announced following detailed deliberations by the judging panel.
Following detailed deliberations by the judging panel, the winners of the second edition of the Vinyl 2010 Sustainable Thinking Platform multimedia competition have been announced. Prizes were awarded to the best photograph, essay and video submitted in response to the following question: “With an ever-increasing population, how can we maximise resource efficiency to meet our growing needs?”

The winners of the recycled PVC bags for the the most active participants are: Mahendra, Didgetc, Janjan. Olgakigeo and Jorbis.
More than 2,500 people from 90 different countries registered as members of the Vinyl 2010 Sustainable Thinking Platform after the launch of the first competition. The level of participation in the second edition, which ran from September to December 2010, exceeded the expectations of the Vinyl 2010 team, with a total of 142 pictures, 35 essays and 6 videos submitted. The Platform’s own members selected a list of finalists by rating and voting for their favourite entries.
The judging panel included Ole Grøndahl Hansen (Director of Denmark's PVC Information Council), Carlo Latorre (Editor in Chief of Plastica Verde), and David Cook (Chief Executive of The Natural Step). They were pleased to note that the quality of the entries received has continued to improve from competition to competition. The panel was particularly impressed by the winners’ creativity and their high level of interaction with each other.
The Sustainable Thinking Platform was created by Vinyl 2010 to continue promoting wide-ranging debate about sustainability issues. The community, comprised of young people from all the around the world, has the opportunity to exchange ideas and share artistic creations, connecting hundreds of people interested in building a better future for our planet. The platform is in the process of becoming an official partner of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, an initiative focused on spreading best practices in sustainable energy technology, building alliances and inspiring new ideas and actions.
