Humans are called Homo sapiens. “Homo” means man and “sapiens” means wise. Is it true? Nowadays our civilisation have many problems (global warming, peak oil, water pollution, military conflicts, poverty and many others). These problems are very dangerous and our generation even may met them soon. What are we waiting? Cars, trains, planes, ships, heaters, machineries are using Oil & Gas and make pollution. Fortunately Oil, Gas and Uranium deposits are exhaustible sources of energy. Unfortunately we don't develop sustainable: alternative sources, local food production, natural fertilizers and subsidies for organic events. Instead many countries are increasing military-budget and are preparing to next world war. So I can only ask you be Homo and sapiens. Joanna from Poland

The invention of agriculture changed our history. That was less than 10,000 years ago.
It resulted gave birth to cities and civilizations. Memories of thousands of years searching for food faded.
Now we see many problems (pollutions, poverty, peak oil, nuclear war), it shows that we choosed wrong way.
It depends on us to write what comes next. Together.

Yes, it will be hard - one liter of oil generates as much energy as 100 pairs of hands in 24 hours and only twenty percent of the world population consumes 80% of its resources.
But it is possible - we all have the power to change.
