The traffic is a main source of pollution and a major consumer of products from fossil fuels. As the mobility of people and goods has been in constant increase and continues to increase in the globalising world, the key is to find more sustainable ways to manage this mobility. The current car and truck traffic could be considerably reduced by trains. It could lead to less traffic congestion, environmental damage, less cars and less trucks with heavy cargos on the roads etc.
